カンチャナ博物館

日本大使館、国際交流基金アジアセンター、民際センターへの訪問というミッションを終えて、カンチャナ博物館へ。
機織りの体験をしたり（今回もあいかわらず下手でした）、ココナッツやマンゴスチンなど様々な天然染料の材料を見せてもらいました。岩のように見えるのはLacquerの語源になったシェラック（ラックカイガラムシ）で、横に赤く見えるのがそれで染めて赤くなった布です。ここに来るたびに新しい発見があります！

After the visit to Embassy of Japan and Japan Foundation Asia Center, we went to Kanchana Museum. I tried to weave a very simple cotton textile（still too difficult) and saw the natural dyeing. We could see the several plants such as coconut, mangosteen and Shellac(Laccifer lacca) which is a derivation of “lacquer” and dyes of red. Whenever I come to this Museum, there is new discovery.<
