帝国ホテルのノリタケ社製　カップ＆ソーサー

帝国ホテルのカップ＆ソーサーといえば、フランク・ロイド・ライトデザインのオールドノリタケがよく知られている（写真下　ただし復刻版）。
写真上は昨日参加した帝国ホテルでのブッフェパーティで出されたノリタケのカップ＆ソーサー。さすがに白の輝きと金彩の質の高さは、帝国ホテル＆ノリタケ。（写真中は裏印）
ただ、よくみると、ハンドルはかつてのノリタケならすべて金彩で塗りつぶしていましたが、今は金で真ん中にラインを描き、見えない部分の余白は白磁のままである。
今は金でハンドルを塗りつぶすなどコスト的にも不可能なのだろう。
金が多ければよいというものではないが、やはり質のいい金を使った磁器はそれだけで品が良い。そういう意味でもアンテイークを買う意味があるのではないだろうか。
Upper photo is C&S served at Imperial Hotel at present. This is one of the best C&S used in the hotel in Japan, However, the handle has a line of gold and not painted in gold as a whole. It is no wonder if we think about the cost. But I like the antique Noritake with rich and wholly painted in gold.
